GROWING COWPEAS AT SOLANO CANYON COMMUNITY GARDEN

A community Science Healthy Soils Investigation

There are thousands of cowpea varieties. Which ones are best to grow in  SoCal? Which ones require the least water?  Which ones produce the most delicious beans? Learn more about our garden experiment growing cowpeas.

We are growing 6 cowpea cultivars at Solano Canyon Community garden. Cowpeas are a great drought and heat tolerant edible crop, well suited for SoCal's long, hot summers. Plant May- July. More details, below.
